Darns...

Does anyone have $400 and a night to spare?

I so wanted to catch the RSC's production of King Lear (It was my Shakespearean text in my A level days) but tickets are S-O-L-D O-U-T!!

Well, 'cept for the very expensive $400 tickets of course
...

%^&&*&*(*&(#$!@*(()!!

To those that are like going only because of Ian McKellen and his portrayal of Gandalf in the LOTR series....

*$%#*(()#@$@#!&^* !!!!!!

Else, does anyone have alot of Sterling pounds to spare? Bring me to Straford, Im sure we'd see it at Avon later this year!

*Laughs*

Now, anyone up for Corrine May in August? =)

Or Mabou Mines's adaptation of Ibsen's Dollhouse in June? =)

Happy Birthday Bestie!

It's my bestie's bday today!

Just wanna wish her a happy bday and that she'd continue to have blessed years ahead with her family! :)

Just wanna tell her that married life isn't a bed of roses, but at the same time, it isn't and shouldn't be a bed of thorns as well!

I miss her kids so much!! (~_~)

Thanks for always being there, either in person or a sms/phone call/email/MSN away! She's been there through my ups and downs, and we've had our fair share of arguments and silly spats... She's always been my confidant, my pillar of support and my tissue giver whenever we cry over stuff...

She might not know this but she's always and will always have a very very important place in my heart! Cheers to many more years of friendship, and of course, I shall tell her kids about their funky mama's orange-coloured bra wearing days! Opps...! =X

I miss her mum's cooking and the days of football (It was Argentina of the 2002 World Cup for her, Italia and still Italia for me!) and silly nonsensical stuff, shopping in town and at Parkway eons ago!

Meet up soon babe!

I love you!

The Unemployed Bummer... ...

Has finally gotten her arse, or should it be fingers moving, and with updates to my resume (Special thanks to K.H. for being such a sweetheart for editing my resume so that it would sound better! :) *HeaRts*) , I have gotten pretty swift replies from the e-mails that I have since sent out (I thought I sent out few e-mails...Finger and toes were more than enough a figure! Go figure! *Pun Intended*) so much so that...

My day's packed later...!

(Ive since been shortlisted for 8 jobs...Is it just me or is the economy really improving?)

The papers paint a bleak picture though...GST's set to increase till 7% from next month {Just after "The Election" last year...! Coincidental or otherwise? You decide! :P }, property prices are at an all-time high since the good old days of 1995... It's sure gonna crash and burn soon...Water and electricity rates usually increases in the summer months of Singapore (SMART!), ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) rates are increasing, so are the papers to own a car...AKA, Certificate of Entitlement (COE)...

So many acronyms! *Laughs*

Ive digressed...! My apologies...! :P

And out of the eight, Ive got my eyes on this very interesting job...

Well, its desk-bound, but its in the heart of town; which means lunchtime shopping and more shopping after working hours! *Laughs* Plus, it'd sure look good on my resume should I snag the job... =)

I haven't been to an interview in eons...! 3 years odd...! It used to be moi doing the interviews occasionally, when everyone's busy; But the ball's now on my side of the court! *Laughs* At least I know what questions to expect but K.H. says some of my answers can come off as sounding a lil' too cocky in the Asian society that we live in... *Sigh* It would have been "confidence" in another part of the globe though! =P

{I just realised that I dont have real formal wear for interviews and what-nots, ie, more formal functions...First impressions or that very first twenty seconds do count! And I dont have real formal pointy-toed heels in black! Well, I do have them, but they're not that formal...Oh well...More shopping soon then...! My bday pressie of vouchers from Aldo from Dearie Pearlyn Bubbles and Co does come in handy! But I shall wait until the Great/Lousy Singapore Sale's over...Cos that's when the new stock arrives... =P }

Wish me luck!

My humid summer weekend...

Saturday, 9th June 2007

I went grocery shopping in anticipation of the next day's trip to Sentosa...I wanted to make brunch of croissants and a potato salad, cos I knew that I'm not a tourist, so I dont wanna pay exhorbitant prices for my food...Plus, pZ was in "da mood" to... ... ...

Cook...!

(What were u thinking?!) *Laughs*

After some grocery shopping, i caught "Ocean's Thirteen" at the local theatres, and although never watching the previous two prequels, it was one of the best movies I've watched this year! The plot was tight, the lines were witty, the casts were top-notch...I liked the last line that George Clooney's character delivered to Brad Pitt's character at the airport...

But I'm not going to spoil the movie by telling you guys and girls what that line was, 'cept that it kinda mirrored Pitt's real life at this moment...I laughed out really loud during the movie when George Clooney said that line, but no one else in the theatre understood the joke... Bah..!

Typical Singaporeans! (Or, borrowing Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) tagline, "Uniquely Singapore"? *Laughs*)

And that Opera Winfrey bit was seriously hilarious! Go catch it if you havent! It's definitely one of THE summer blockbusters of the year! =)

And the pizza snack that Cathay's chain of cinemas are selling are surprisingly, pretty yummilicious, and pretty good value for money when you compare $8.90, which includes a drink of Coke by the way against $6.50-$7.00 for nacho chips with cheese and a drink!

Talking about movies, I finally caught "Hors de Prix", AKA, "Priceless" at the theatres... Imagine the everytime I wanna catch it, tickets were sold out, or that the timings for the movie were at really odd hours...! But somehow or another, I finally managed to catch the movie! :)

Man! I loved it so much! Audrey Tautou looked real cutesy and played her role real well (Those clothes and bling!), although she does indeed look lil' older from her Amelie days... But I think that Gad Elmaleh stole the show with his puppy eyed look that was so convinving! (Athough for a moment there, I suddenly thought of Puss-in-Boots from Shrek the movie... *Laughs*) Im gonna buy the dvd when/if the movie's avaliable cos it's one of those must-watch, without being cheesy or pretentious... It's a must watch if u wanna learn a few tricks about seducing the opposite gender...

I digressed...! *Laughs*

Sunday, 10th June 2007

pZ woke up real early today, just to fix brunch spread that I wanted to prepare.. .I made croissants with tuna, egg and artificial crabmeat... I made them with ham and cheese as well... Made 2 different potato salads, one with cheese and the other with a dressing... Too bad I didn't snap a few pictures...I totally forgot! *Laughs*

Reached Sentosa at about 11-ish/close to noon, and boy was it hot...! Sweltering! I was soo afriad of getting a tan that I had on my SPF 60 sunblock everywhere, and cos I didnt wanna look like a red-nosed reindeer for the remaining week, I slapped on a whole lot of SPF on my face and neck! (SPF 50 + SPF 130 sunblock + SPF 15 Foundation + SPF 35 concealer = SPF 230 in total! And no, I didn't turn out looking like a geisha ok! *Laughs*)

I had fun with the ludge ride and what-nots, but the heat was unbearable, so I popped into 7-11 and got myself a Heineiken...Well, beer's root ingredient's malt, which is barley, so it is "cooling"...Right? :P

I wanted to shower sooo badly, but then I'd thought I'd sweat again, so I headed off to the beach, where we got a beach mat and I literally snored for the next 3 hours odd...! *OinK* Imagine! Thank Gawd that I had used my cap as a shield from the sun rays so nobody recognised me... *Laughs*

The new musical fountain show was not that interesting, I still preferred the old one, where it didn't have a cheesy storyline and bad acting... But there were fireworks and what-nots; I mean, the show itself isn't free-of-charge like the good-old days, so I reckon they added in the fireworks for the "Wow" factor and to make it seem value for money... "Uniquely Singapore"? Nah, I dont think so...! But thumbs up to the really young crew/staff of Sentosa; They were really polite, they knew their directions and they never failed to have a smile on their faces! I reckon that they are tertiary students/interns... Poor them...Alot of them looked really tanned! must be from the sunny weather!

So, after a very late dinner of yummy cripsy fried chicken chop (Pity about the recycled oil that I reckon they've been using for quite some time, else it would have tasted much better!) at the Muslim place near my place, I decided to go for a walk along East Coast Beach, cos I was tremendously bloated cos I kept eating through-out the entire day! *Laughs* I was literally stuffed! =P

I finally got home after a very sunny and humid day, but I sure had heaps of fun! I finally had my truly well-deserved shower (Mummy said stank like a pig! :P), and I drifted off to dreamland...Not that bad cos I havent slept at midnight in quite a while!

And the day at Sentosa was fun cos I had great company and great food (Well, the food in It's really been a while since I spent a day at the beach, and totally far away from my shopping and the usual what-nots...It was really fun, despite the real humid and sorching weather (SG's
version of summer! *Laughs*) ...Sentosa sucked! Pricey and un-yummlicious! :( But the late dinner and the ice-cream at Sentosa made up for it!), so what more could a girl ask for? =)

Well, maybe I should hit the huge funfair this coming Sunday...! I missed them when they were in the Northern part of SG a week earlier, so now since its closer to home, I reckon I might just take the real scary and thrilling rides for fun! I love the adrenalin rush I get from being tossed, hauled and thrown everywhere! Plus, it's always been, in pZ's books, as the ideal place/setting for a lovely and romantic weekend date, right? =P

Well, obviously Singapore's fun fairs wouldn't be as nice as the one in Six Flags and what nots, but that's about the closest we can get to the Six Flags' version...Most of the rides are over-priced and its not as thrilling as it seems...Cos I reckon most Singaporeans aren't daring enough I guess...

And I can get my Ramly burger fix! (For my overseas friends, Ramly burgers are burgers with a meat patty covered with egg, mayonaise and chilli and some versions of this very yummy BBQ sauce...It seems ordinary, but its superb! It orginated from Malaysia and it was supposedly invented by a guy named Ramly, which explains the burger's name...Ive heard that the Malaysia versions are much better!

And I can get my steamed cup corn, candy floss, and maybe if Im lucky enough at thos dart board games and what-nots, another stuffed toy! *Laughs* But frankly, I think I can't aim for nuts! :P

*DrooLs*

Now, whose up for getting themselves queasy and feeling faint? And of course, being my lovely weekend amusement park hot date of the day? :P

My Forever Young Birthday celebrations - Part Two

Well, plenty of apologies for the late update, its just that my wireless is cranky again, so having to tap on a neighbour's internet connection and getting a weak signal doesn't help my blogging that much...*Laughs*

So, after the 2 "Waterfalls" and what nots, I was so hyped up, and excited that I am literally Forever Young, that I didn't sleep a wink at all, mainly because I was supposedly to go on a roadtrip down to K.L, Malaysia for the weekend, and to probably shoppp alot at half the prices, get really yummy seafood and to cehck out Zouk, K.L...So, I was busy trying to pack, deciding what clothes to wear and what-nots...Imagine Mummy's look of mock horror after her jog along the beach - her daughter is awake, at an un-earthly time (Well, I rarely am up that early unless its for work, or school or important events... =P ) and looking so bright-eyed!

Well I admitted to Mummy that I haven't slept a wink, since it was my bday and all...And I told my brother that we ought to celebrate this wonderful and joyous occasion by going to have pancakes and what nots at the mall nearby our place (Parkway Parade); Mummy tagged along as well...And I showed Mummy pictures of my "Waterfalls" from the night before...She was horrendouly shocked that I drank two of these lethal concotions and I'm still sober! *Laughs* (Opps...! I've blown my cover! :P )

What a nice way to start the morning of this special day...I admit, I'm not really a morning person, Im highly nocturnal, but to have breakfast with dearest Mummy and brother is pure bliss, for in the "Good Old Dark Ages" not too long ago, pZ rarely had the opportunity to sit down with my family, even if it was for like a cup of aqua...Im glad those days are over... ... =)

We went home slightly after lunchtime, and we were all too full for lunch, so, I continued with my packing and was pretty busy trying to reply the tons of SMS-es from my dear friends...It wasn't long before I had to leave for Malaysia...Or so i had thought...

I went with K.H. to Ritz Carlton, cos there was a couple of clients who wanted their stuff to be delivered to their room and then we were to head off to Malaysia, after meeting a few friends near the Causeway...But when I got into the room, I saw balloons, and at that instant, I knew I was "punk-ed"...! I immediately said something real typical and pretty vulgar...(Yeah, I uttered some vulgarities.. =X ) Then I saw heaps of my dearest friends popping out from the huge bathroom, singing "Happy Birthday"...

The view from 2111...! Simply breath-taking, isn't it? =)

After cake-cutting and "World Peace" wishes, I had to hunt for my bday pressie in that huge room...My Gawd! I was in too much of a shock that I was really at a loss of words...! To all my dearest friends who were there - Sorry that I was such a lousy host...It wasn't intentional! I was just too stunned for words! And those who know me do know that it's not that easy to get pZ lacking in words, cos I'm such a motor-mouth! *Laughs*

Imagine my surprise when I received what I have been lusting for since my 22nd birthday -- The Fendi spybag...! I know, its a bag that might be considered as an antique for the socialites and what-nots, but I truly have been lusting for one since eons ago! And my friends kept telling me that its a fake, all the way across the Causeway, and it costs only RM$100...! I was still so stunned that I kept asking K.H. if we were still going to K.L. ...

I received shopping vouchers, cosmetics, bags, and a book amongst other stuff as pressies as well...And I am truly blessed...For planning a surprise of this scale is pretty amazing, not to mention locating and contacting my lovable friends to make it...

I am truly touched...!

Happy Forever Young Birthday to me...!
{I know I know, I look like crap...! *Laughs*}

And Ive been using the Fendi Spybag everyday... Now, how about a Speedy from the L.V collection?

*Laughs*

My Forever Young Birthday celebrations - Part One

I met up with DarLing JuLes and we had sushi for dinner...I had a green tea ice cream with a lighted candle, which was yummy! :) But, I was pretty sad cos she said she's leaving me to go karaoke with her other friends...I was like, "Huh? Ok...Bummer..." So I wasn't feeling that yippy zippy, so poor friends had to endure my "Diva-ness"... All kneel before me now! *Laughs*

After some "cock-ups" here and there, I was finally at "Our Playground" with DarLing JuLes {She wanted to gimme a surprise so she rushed off to Wisma Atria for shoes cos she was in her Birkies...Thank Gawd Wisma Atria had some late-night shopping thingy going on... =) }, DarLing jodY and K.H. ...It was pretty fun, cos its been a while since the three of us were at "Our Playground", crowd wasn't fantastic, music sucked, but the company made up for everything more than anything else... =)

DJ Herman said some birthday wishes and DarLing JuLes wanted it to be "Have loads of french kisses, and plenty of naked action" or something, but I think Herman couldn't really hear so he merely said "happy wishes"... *Laughs*

George heard it was my birthday and treated me to 2 "Waterfalls"...What was even sweeter was the fact that it was made by my fave bartender! Sweet...! =D The first was weak, so the three of us (DarLings JuLes and Jody) told him that it was weak...So he got Kelvin to fix another one...But sorry hun, still too weak to knock me out...He made me drink half a bottle of beer in one swallow...I was thirsty, so...You get my drift... *Laughs*

That second "Waterfall"...

So, after a jug of lychee martini with heaps of lychees, plenty of lychee feeding (We did it mouth-to-mouth..! *Laughs*), some Vodka Lime and some weird fruit punch with Vodka, 2 "Waterfalls" and half a bottle of beer later, pZ's still standing, not even a lil' tipsy... *Laughs*

I give credit to good drinking genes from Daddy and Mummy, wine drinking sessions with the family over "bak kwa" (BBQ-ed pork slices), and to my two livers! Apparently, Mummy used to drink home-made rice wine my maternal granny made for herself and my maternal grand-dad since she was a lil' tot; Daddy always had to drink alot before he could sleep (His old job of running the family business had trained up his livers over drinking sessions with customers), so I'm blessed! I love to drink! *HiC*

*Laughs*

And so, Im so hyper that I can't sleep! I heart all who made the first few hours of my Forever Young Birthday special and fun!And Ive already gotten one huge lollipop as a birthday pressie! Its the biggest lollipop that I've ever received! And of course, plenty of kisses...! =)

*pZ feels really loved*

Random nonsense but...

Its amazing what a nap, or shall I call that "Knocked-Out (KO-ed) kinda sleep" does to the brain...I had to pee, so I dragged myself outta bed, and before I knew it...I couldn't sleep...

So me being me, I came online, blogged a lil', surfed sites... Something interesting happened...For some weird/morbid reason or another, I noticed that the "ex-ex-ed-phile" (That same immature and hot-tempered guy that gave me a bruise on the cheek years ago for not able to catch his mobile phone in time before it hit the ground...Yes, tell me about the luck I had with boys! *Laughs*) checked me out on Friendster...

I wonder how he still has access to my account...I think one of my female ex-colleagues with the intention of dating her or something is on his friends' list, so he is indirectly linked to my profile...And so, I was bored...And I saw him online on MSN, but he's on my very longgg list of "blocked" listers, I noticed he had a blog addy, so I went to his blog, cos I was trying to lull myself to sleep and I'd give whatever might work a shot...! (*Laughs* Yeah, he was that boring!)

And I came across an old blog entry about his life and all and I saw my name amongst a list of 24 names of girls...I am girl number 16! *Wry smile*

"but there have been soo many nice gals in my life.. i thank them truely.. though i might have hurt them b4.. but i want u guys to knw that.. i was foolish.. i still am.. these are the gals whoom i felt the most for in my life... some are not my ex.. but just gals whoom i really like.. or have an impt place in my heart."...

He still doesnt know how to spell and structure his sentences coherently...! *Laughs*

"i might seem hard and tough on the outside like a piece of rock sugar, but once in contact with hot coffee, i'll melt and be the sweetest thing in ur life.. would u be my coffee?"

After eons, he's still using that line...And no, I didn't say yes...I remembered what I said, I remember laughing out really loudly and telling him in my most serious tone of voice that no, I don't drink coffee... *Laughs* How we got together was really lame...I didn't say yes, he assumed that we were together...And when I was trying to tell him that he's living in his own world, he had to drop his phone and gave me a bruise... (that in itself would warrant a longg lonng blog entry if I were to type it out... *Laughs*)

The irony of life is that one of the guys Ive come to know from "Our Playground" who has a really weird habit of calling me in the wee hours when he's drunk is this "ex-ex-ed-phile"'s secondary school classmate and poly mate...! Singapore is really that small...

And I am finally sleepy...

Laters!

*HeaRts*

Just...

ONE more day to my Forever Young birthday!

I can't wait! =)

{But having the super irregular menses on 1 1/2 days to your once a year birthday is sorta like a "Mastercard Priceless moment"! =| }

Very very priceless indeeed!

*Laughs*
