My humid summer weekend...

Saturday, 9th June 2007

I went grocery shopping in anticipation of the next day's trip to Sentosa...I wanted to make brunch of croissants and a potato salad, cos I knew that I'm not a tourist, so I dont wanna pay exhorbitant prices for my food...Plus, pZ was in "da mood" to... ... ...

Cook...!

(What were u thinking?!) *Laughs*

After some grocery shopping, i caught "Ocean's Thirteen" at the local theatres, and although never watching the previous two prequels, it was one of the best movies I've watched this year! The plot was tight, the lines were witty, the casts were top-notch...I liked the last line that George Clooney's character delivered to Brad Pitt's character at the airport...

But I'm not going to spoil the movie by telling you guys and girls what that line was, 'cept that it kinda mirrored Pitt's real life at this moment...I laughed out really loud during the movie when George Clooney said that line, but no one else in the theatre understood the joke... Bah..!

Typical Singaporeans! (Or, borrowing Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) tagline, "Uniquely Singapore"? *Laughs*)

And that Opera Winfrey bit was seriously hilarious! Go catch it if you havent! It's definitely one of THE summer blockbusters of the year! =)

And the pizza snack that Cathay's chain of cinemas are selling are surprisingly, pretty yummilicious, and pretty good value for money when you compare $8.90, which includes a drink of Coke by the way against $6.50-$7.00 for nacho chips with cheese and a drink!

Talking about movies, I finally caught "Hors de Prix", AKA, "Priceless" at the theatres... Imagine the everytime I wanna catch it, tickets were sold out, or that the timings for the movie were at really odd hours...! But somehow or another, I finally managed to catch the movie! :)

Man! I loved it so much! Audrey Tautou looked real cutesy and played her role real well (Those clothes and bling!), although she does indeed look lil' older from her Amelie days... But I think that Gad Elmaleh stole the show with his puppy eyed look that was so convinving! (Athough for a moment there, I suddenly thought of Puss-in-Boots from Shrek the movie... *Laughs*) Im gonna buy the dvd when/if the movie's avaliable cos it's one of those must-watch, without being cheesy or pretentious... It's a must watch if u wanna learn a few tricks about seducing the opposite gender...

I digressed...! *Laughs*

Sunday, 10th June 2007

pZ woke up real early today, just to fix brunch spread that I wanted to prepare.. .I made croissants with tuna, egg and artificial crabmeat... I made them with ham and cheese as well... Made 2 different potato salads, one with cheese and the other with a dressing... Too bad I didn't snap a few pictures...I totally forgot! *Laughs*

Reached Sentosa at about 11-ish/close to noon, and boy was it hot...! Sweltering! I was soo afriad of getting a tan that I had on my SPF 60 sunblock everywhere, and cos I didnt wanna look like a red-nosed reindeer for the remaining week, I slapped on a whole lot of SPF on my face and neck! (SPF 50 + SPF 130 sunblock + SPF 15 Foundation + SPF 35 concealer = SPF 230 in total! And no, I didn't turn out looking like a geisha ok! *Laughs*)

I had fun with the ludge ride and what-nots, but the heat was unbearable, so I popped into 7-11 and got myself a Heineiken...Well, beer's root ingredient's malt, which is barley, so it is "cooling"...Right? :P

I wanted to shower sooo badly, but then I'd thought I'd sweat again, so I headed off to the beach, where we got a beach mat and I literally snored for the next 3 hours odd...! *OinK* Imagine! Thank Gawd that I had used my cap as a shield from the sun rays so nobody recognised me... *Laughs*

The new musical fountain show was not that interesting, I still preferred the old one, where it didn't have a cheesy storyline and bad acting... But there were fireworks and what-nots; I mean, the show itself isn't free-of-charge like the good-old days, so I reckon they added in the fireworks for the "Wow" factor and to make it seem value for money... "Uniquely Singapore"? Nah, I dont think so...! But thumbs up to the really young crew/staff of Sentosa; They were really polite, they knew their directions and they never failed to have a smile on their faces! I reckon that they are tertiary students/interns... Poor them...Alot of them looked really tanned! must be from the sunny weather!

So, after a very late dinner of yummy cripsy fried chicken chop (Pity about the recycled oil that I reckon they've been using for quite some time, else it would have tasted much better!) at the Muslim place near my place, I decided to go for a walk along East Coast Beach, cos I was tremendously bloated cos I kept eating through-out the entire day! *Laughs* I was literally stuffed! =P

I finally got home after a very sunny and humid day, but I sure had heaps of fun! I finally had my truly well-deserved shower (Mummy said stank like a pig! :P), and I drifted off to dreamland...Not that bad cos I havent slept at midnight in quite a while!

And the day at Sentosa was fun cos I had great company and great food (Well, the food in It's really been a while since I spent a day at the beach, and totally far away from my shopping and the usual what-nots...It was really fun, despite the real humid and sorching weather (SG's
version of summer! *Laughs*) ...Sentosa sucked! Pricey and un-yummlicious! :( But the late dinner and the ice-cream at Sentosa made up for it!), so what more could a girl ask for? =)

Well, maybe I should hit the huge funfair this coming Sunday...! I missed them when they were in the Northern part of SG a week earlier, so now since its closer to home, I reckon I might just take the real scary and thrilling rides for fun! I love the adrenalin rush I get from being tossed, hauled and thrown everywhere! Plus, it's always been, in pZ's books, as the ideal place/setting for a lovely and romantic weekend date, right? =P

Well, obviously Singapore's fun fairs wouldn't be as nice as the one in Six Flags and what nots, but that's about the closest we can get to the Six Flags' version...Most of the rides are over-priced and its not as thrilling as it seems...Cos I reckon most Singaporeans aren't daring enough I guess...

And I can get my Ramly burger fix! (For my overseas friends, Ramly burgers are burgers with a meat patty covered with egg, mayonaise and chilli and some versions of this very yummy BBQ sauce...It seems ordinary, but its superb! It orginated from Malaysia and it was supposedly invented by a guy named Ramly, which explains the burger's name...Ive heard that the Malaysia versions are much better!

And I can get my steamed cup corn, candy floss, and maybe if Im lucky enough at thos dart board games and what-nots, another stuffed toy! *Laughs* But frankly, I think I can't aim for nuts! :P

*DrooLs*

Now, whose up for getting themselves queasy and feeling faint? And of course, being my lovely weekend amusement park hot date of the day? :P
