In Search of Happy-ness... =)

Has anyone been stuck in a situation when you want something so badly, so much so that it is within reach, yet you can't get your hands on it?

Let's put it in analogy terms:-

Since I've such a love affair with shoes, let's just say that you saw a really lovely pair of shoes that would really match your all-time fave outfit, and it's at a discounted price and is thus, really affordable... So you decide to try the shoes out and you realise how comfy it is, despite the fact that you are simply just walking on 2 sticks that's enduring your entire body weight... (According to Mummy and brother that is… :P )

You decide to buy it, when...

The sales person tells you it's being reserved by someone so you can't have the pair, as it is, unfortunately the last pair in the store...

Or how Candy Empire tells me that my fave Willy Wonka chocolate bar is no longer in production, which is why it is no longer sold here! :(

Likewise, when Love strikes from unknown corners, where it lurks and sneaks up on a person, would you fall hopelessly and expect for the best things ever to happen you, or would you adopt a cautious, wait-and-see approach? Or much worse, push Love and everything else that comes along with it away?

Everyone has, I am sure, been hurt through the process of looking for Love, or something similar… I am one of those unfortunate few that have been hurt far too many times that sometimes, to numb the pain and to prevent myself from getting hurt once again, I tend to push everything and everyone away, and bottle up the feelings inside. =(

It’s sad, but sometimes, I wished that there was a pill for happiness… Like how when a person has a headache, all he/she needs to do is to pop a couple of painkillers, take a nap or rest for a while, and then he/she would get better…

I mean when one is happy, a person can drink themselves silly, or shop until their legs feel weak, or just do really random things…

However, at this point of time, I can only imagine that I have my daily dosage of my happiness pill and I put on the brightest smile before I face the world, kinda like a mask, of sorts…

And when one isn’t in a very happy mood, one listens to an all time fave song!

One of my fave songs to just chill and listen to... Never fails to get me "in the mood", if you know what I mean...

I know, it's been real bad of me cos I've been blogging only like over the weekends recently, so there isn't much to read! My bad! It's just that work's been really hectic, but fun at the same time, so all's good! =)


Besides working, pZ also has to attend classes and the silly M&M randomness started again for one of the girls bought PINK M&Ms cos they were sold at Vivo City's Candy Empire store...

So, being the "Random Princess", as my classmates have been calling me, I decided to take pictures of them! :P

That was when I noticed that the PINK M&Ms were a special edition for the nurses of a certain anatomy in the western world! *LauGhs*

And guess what I saw on the way while searching for an ATM?

Really old-skool mobile phones! The days when they appeared on the television Chinese dramas shown on the telly eons ago! I remembered carrying a similar one to the phone on the right as a water bottle when I was a lil' kiddo! I was so fascinated that I actually took pictures!

The most unfortunate thing happened while I was on my way home from classes; I fell off the top floor of the double-decked bus for the driver had steeped on the brakes for no apparent reason, so I tumbled from the top step of the stairs, down to the 2nd last step!

It was lucky that I did not break any bones or even sprained anything, with me in my towering high 3 inch heels! But I did get a whole lotta brusies! It was literally celebrating the 15th day of the CNY period with a literal loud bang!

And it's not as if I don't have enough scars on my legs due to eczema!

I know, I have freaking fugly legs! But who cares? :P


And it hurt like crazyy when I got home and had to ice my legs with 2 bagfuls of ice! :(

It's seriously the 1st time I've this many bruises on me!

Since I had far too many battle scars from the previous day, it meant that the Drinking and Dancing had to be done without a party dress! I covered the bruises in jeans instead!

Despite the extremely lousy service from the servers of St James's Powerhouse, we had a wild time, of sorts, cos I played the "5-10" finger guessing game for the 1st time in my life and wasn't the one to drink the most from losing! :P

(Well, nevermind that the game was slowed to a turtle's pace just for me! :P)


While waiting for our bottle of "green tea" to be served, we had to wait and wait, so, girls being girls, darLing Jody and I spent the time waiting on cam-whoring!

I spent the Saturday in class, trying to pay my bestest attention to lectures on Accounting and Management... And I didn't suffer from a hangover or anything of that sort! But I was in a deliriously happy mood that day! :) Probably because I had a fantastic night out the day before! :)

I headed off to the cinemas and finally caught CJ7!! :) I must say that it isn't a very logical nor extremely hilarious movie, but those cute lil' furry things are so cute that they'd make u go "Awwww...!!"

So cute, isn't it? Those eyes reminded me of Shrek's "Puss-in-Boot"'s! So adorable!!

The lil' actress stole the thunder and limelight from all the rest of the crew with her cutesy lil' expressions! And did I not mention that she's acting as a lil' boy in the movie? :) I'm not kidding! Apparently she's so talented that she's now officially Stephen Chow's god-daughter! :)



I also had the time to squeeze in a heart-to-heart talk with my parents during a very late Sunday brunch about my life, issues and stuff... It's great that we are able to sit down and chat like friends, rather than to yell and scream each other's heads off like those stormy days eons ago... :) It's extremely comforting to know that have earned the trust of my parents, and that they've finally come to terms with the fact that their lil' baby girl's all grown-up and definitely wiser now!

Yayy to that!

I ended the weekend with a stroll along the beach, some shopping of tidbits/snacks meant for munching on at work, and with plenty of smiles on my face!

Belated CNY!

Belated Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

So how was the "angpow"/"hongbao" collection for those who are still eligible? *LauGhs*

Mine was pretty much the same as previous years, so much for all the news articles about a better economy meaning more wads of cash inside the red packets, but oh well, Mummy says one must always be contented! :)


But the inevitable question came fast and furious than compared to previous years...


Relatives: "Wow, getting prettier day by day... So, have you gotten a bf already? Faster get married so I can save on giving you a red packet...!"


My usual response would either be that I'm happily single, or that I wanna remain a child and get red packets! Or just point the finger in my brother's direction! Hahs! :P


The weekend of CNY saw the extended family bringing my dearest and sweetest granny/PoPo out for a dim sum brunch, with the "Lou Hei" of the "Yu Sheng"...

My dearest and ever lovable Granny/PoPo , Daddy dearest and my domestic caretaker of my Granny! Granny looked tired on that day, but she was happy throughout the meal, so the glum expression on her face was so random! =| I reckon its got to do with the fact that she's turning 90 this year, so undeniably she'd be tired once in a while!

I know, I've over-piled on the foundation! But what's a girl gotta do when she was out clubbing until wee hours of the morning the day before? =P

Makes me realise that we really ought to and should treasure the people that we cherish and hold dear in our hearts and to never take them for granted! I remember Granny used to like tying my hair under the starry skies when I was a young kiddo...

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

Sometimes, all you need is Love...

Well, what's new?


New job aside and how my new colleagues seem to be genuinely nice and helpful, and how there's heaps of consolidation to do and clear, meaning no time to blog, this post, as stated by its title, would be filled with LOVE...

Well, alot of my female colleagues received plenty and huge bouquets of roses and the teddies... And me sitting closest to the door means having to sign for them! There were the flowers from friends, significant other and even the ex! But getting chauffeured out to lunch in a sports car was a great mid-noon start to a seemingly peaceful Valentine's Day...!


(Sports car/coupe = My manager's! And it is crammed at the back seats! What were u thinking?!?)


But honestly speaking, I've always thought that Valentine's Day was a day for the florists to make a killing, and for couples who've neglected their significant other to do something to express their neglect and what-nots... I remembered being with the ex of yester-years and my initial thought when I got a huge bouquet of pink lilies was what hanky panky has he been up to to spend that much on a huge bouquet! Was even thinking if I had to go dutch, and whether he had enough cash on him... Silly silly me...! *LauGhs*


I mean all girls adore roses, flowers and what nots, but for me, receiving it would mean the person getting a shelling from me about how silly it is to pay that much for something that's already dead...FYI, those roses are dead and would last only for like a week at the most, and when they wither, mommies would nag at us to throw them out cos they're gathering dust...


My Valentine's Day plans this year was to spend it with a married middle-aged guy with a pot-belly that seems to be swelling, listening to him talk about Management theories and a whole load of bollocks...!

Between theories of Motivation, money and salary, pZ got tempted with BLUE M&Ms! :P There's just something about the blue ones that I cannot resist!

Then I started telling my classmates of how a single serving would have 25grams of saturated fats, they tried tempting me again! This time with a GREEN M&M!

Since there isn't PINK M&Ms, the girls tried with a RED one! Ironically, those matched the colours of my pens that I was scribbling with! :)

Yesh, the random things my girlies in class and I get up to when lecture gets boring! :P

I was early for class and the guys in my class were surprised to see me there, wondering why I wasn't out on a date... Well, I simply replied that Im happily single and that everyday would be Valentine's Day if Ive a Valentine! And how the only man I can trust is the one tucked in my wallet, Mr Yusoff Ishak! (The former president's figure is on each of our notes! *LauGhs*)


And since the lecturer was late, I went to get a drink, and again bumped into another lecturer whom asked what I was doing in school when it's Valentine's Day! *SmAcKs head*

Wassup with lecturers nowadays!?!?! *LauGhs*

Then I got a phone call... Asking me to get to the front of the school building...

My Valentine's Day gift from a secret service agent (Not Telling! =X ) who dropped by just to hand me the gift of a 24K gold rose that according to him, would not wither and wilt, and wouldn't be a waste of money cos it would stand the test of time!

And since I was going to have classes, he was sweet enough to buy me a snack/my dinner of a slice of low-fat chocolate cake since I'm on a diet and that he knows I didn't have time to have my dinner before my lecture... Although its sinful chocolate cake, at least it's low fat!

I was so touched and totally shocked to receive a pressie this Valentine's Day that I forgot to say thank you!

Close friends would know how I don't really like the idea of giving bouquets of flowers to the significant other, for the flowers are already dead, and nipped in their buds! :(
Which is why I prefer to view a garden-ful of flowers or receive a cactus, cos to watch a cactus grow takes TLC,
Not to mention how bloody expensive some dead plants would cost on this day!!!

The golden rose up close on my Powerpuff Girls bedsheets! I'm such a kid at heart! :)

The very belated post...

I know...I know... I haven't been blogging, but it's been a tiring month! Time flies! the 1st month of 2008 has just whizzed by us and Im typing this after a catnap on the 1st day of the Chinese New Year! I do hope that everyone's gotten quite a great deal of red packets today! :)


Well, the main reason as to why I havent been actively blogging is because of work. Work, as it is, if isn't enjoyable, becomes a chore, which leaves a person emotionally drained out and wanting more sleep! :P


The irksome thing was that on the first day of work, my boss had already screamed her head off at me, simply cause I wasn't aware of how the various internal softwares worked! It was a trying experience, for no one handed over or taught me things that I ought to know which is related to my job scope; It was as though I had to know about the operating systems, mind-boggling acronyms and the operations on my own; I was left to sink or swim, and I'd like to think I got by pretty okay...


But the relations with the colleagues at work in my department is simply put, cordial... Judging from their body languages, it's pretty apparent that my boss dislikes me, and I reckon its due to personal reasons than work-related issues, but I just put on my brightest smile at 0830 every weekday morning, and even after getting scolded or being at the receiving end of her sarcasm, I still managed to have the smile plastered on my face! So much for being fake!

Colleagues-wise, I truly believe that they're nice people, but people whom I wouldn't consider to be friends... I mean, this is such an irony for Ive made so many lasting friendships from the various jobs Ive had throughout the years, and this is by far, the worse job for Ive never experienced working under such a tyrant whose sarcasm seems personal, and her remarks can reduce even the toughest to feeling like useless bums! The silver lining in that is that I've now lost a few kilos with the constant stress and bullet/arrow dodging in my attempts to run away from the boss's wrath, which occurs at any time at her whim...


So much for working in a highly-reputable 5 star hotel in hospitality! Despite being the oddball of my department, I have, surprisingly, made friends with fellow colleagues in other departments whom all pat me on the back and encourage me... At least I now know how a huge and reputable hotel works and how each department contributes to make the hotel's daily operations run smoothly! And how working until past midnight feels like! *LauGhs*



And amidst all the pressures at work, and juggling classes, moi still went for some girly fun night outs!

And it was a mad mad rush getting all my CNY stuff, simply because I haven't had the time to shop at all, since work is never-ending... :( I didn't even buy new shoes! :( Well, the shoes havent been that nice recently anyways, they're all not toweringly high, and ever since work demands covered heels, I havent had the chance to wear my lovely heels! Hurhur!


But I must say that the last minute mad dash for some CNY clothes was pretty successful, I managed to get dresses, mostly in black, so I can't wear them for CNY, but who cares? :P


CNY-wise, the red packets are same old, same old, Daddy's side of relatives aren't that generous, but hey, I can't complain either! :) Besides, with each year, I've been asked if Ive a boyfriend, whether I am attached and the ring of fire questions.... *Smacks Head* And to realise that its the very irregular time of the month just minutes before we usher in the year of the mousey and to have have bad pangs of cramps all day long is just so priceless!! (-_-")


But the festive period is a great excuse to just chill, veg out on all the snacks and goodies, and catch up on watching random telly shows and of course...

Coffee Prince!!!

The chemistry between the lead actors and actresses are simply amazing! Not to mention the lovely houses served as the backdrop in this drama serial, and obviously... ...
