Its been more than a week since my last entry. My bad! =P
It seems as though the week had passed by me real S-L-O-W-L-Y...Its been one hell of a week for me!
The week began with me coughing horribly while i was on my way to school...I was literally coughing my lungs out all the way from the Eastern to the Western part of Singapore! And I was feeling so miserable that I coughed out my breakfast, AKA, puked, before I went for my classes. And I was so distracted as I was too occupied with coughing! I wanted to leave class and visit a doctor's but my guyfriend whose staying in the West told me that there are queues at the clinics all the time...So, me being the stubborn girl that I am, hung on in class until lunchtime...And I had felt better to continue attending my afternoon lecture as it was my fave module for this semester and I adored the lecturer! The irony of it all was that I fell asleep half an hour into his lecture and he forgave me cos he could sense that I was really sick! What a sweetie! =)
Daddy flew off to China at like 4am, and I had to wake up at 10-ish to visit my doctor, and my mummy insisted on accompanying me there, cos I had a feeling that she was worried that I might faint flat on my way there or something. It was sort of weird having to visit the doctor's again after almost half a year. (Date was printed on his cards and stuff.) It was even weirder cos I was so used to seeing a particular Someone flipping newspapers or magazines or making phone calls while waiting for me during my consultation with Doctor Ong. I was glad my Mummy was there and in some way, I had a feeling that she knew what I was thinking. Mummys really know best! *Heart*
Doctor Ong said that I might be having a case of a tonsil or a sinus infection, which sounded really serious. So he decided to give me a really strong antibiotics to, in his words, "wipe out the virus completely". And everything he prescribed was drowsy medication! And the medical bill came up to $68! (It could have been used for pZ's shoe funds!) Bloody antibiotics...!
For a moment there i had wished that my immune system wasn't so weak since I was a young tod. My weak immune system meant longer recovery periods when I was ill. And it would have meant stronger antbiotics most of the time and countless of trips to the clinic! Doctor Ong has seen me since I was a cute lil' girl, he was the one that sent me to the hospital when I had my first asthma attack. He was the one who signed all my Medical Certificates when I was in secondary school. He was the one that sent me to SNEC (Singapore National Eye Clinic) to his eye specialist friend when my eye was swollen from a contact lens infection. He was the one who seemed geninuely worried when I constantly suffered from bad bouts of gastric flu for the entire 2006. He made a personal call to check up on me! Which doctor would do that?
The drowsy medication was really potent! I literally slept throughout Tuesday and I thought I would have died or slept through my medicure and pedicure appointment! (Vain pZ had to get her nails done just for Kenny and Ferdinand's wedding over the weekend!) I loved the service rendered cos Phoebe, the lady which I requested to have for my medicure and pedicure was really chatty and she was really thorough to the point where she even picked out the dead skin off an old blister from my toe! I was totally impressed as she took 90 minues for just my pedicure! I love my nails now! I had it painted a shade of red! I like! *Hearts*
I met up with Jody for dinner after my very long manicure and pedicure appointment (Close to 3 hours!) and I finally visited MAC and bought my foundation and a new blusher! The service was wonderful and under all the bright lights of the MAC store, I felt that my pores were huge! I felt real fugly! And after a week odd of using MAC's blusher and foundation, it really is, like what my gfs have been saying, really good...It stayed on throughout the night, even when I was out for a long night of dancing at "Our Playground" until the wee hours of the morning! I didnt even re-touch my make up at all! Which is really amazing, cos I tend to sweat quite abit while dancing and believe me, its no joke when u hit the dancefloors at "Our Playground" cos its pretty stuffy and warm all the time! *Laughs*
Unleashing the shopaholic in me, I walked into Zara and I bought a dress and a top that were on sale! I kinda regretted getting the dress cos similar designs could be found at the shops in Far East Plaza, and even around the clothing stores near my place! :(
Mingyun called me while I was walking around with Jody and she had just got into an argument with her bf, so she needed to drink and chill, so we decided to head off to "Our Playground" at the last minute...And MingYun bought a $150 dress for clubbing! Man! I guess that she was really in a bad mood! I didnt touch any drop of alcohol cos I was on medication and the girls forbade me from having any! The only thing I had was the lychees from their martinis! And Mccoy, one of the bartenders there, had noticed that I wasn't drinking...And when he realised that I was sick, he poured me a glass a water without any ice, no questions asked, which I felt was really sweet of him! And I found out that he was sick as well and had cut his hand! Poor Mccoy! Hope he gets well soon! And Kelvin, my fave bartender did something which was absolutely random and out of the blue (Not telling! =X ) which caught me by surprise and smiley at the same time! *SmiLes*
I had a test on Friday, which I hoped I would ace it, cos it was pretty easy! :) And I rushed off to get my examination fees paid and had my eyebrows trimmed by a guy called Eddy...Eddy was real chatty and friendly, and he did a pretty good job with my weird-looking brows! And Jody and I went to "Our Playground" really late at night for she was tired out from Wednesday's dancing session and her projects at work! I felt real touched that she accompanied me there! And I was real glad that she made the effort! *Hearts*
I went for a second appointment with Dr Ong in the morning and he cleared me of any suspected tonsil or sinus infection! (Had he not cleared me from it, I would have to get to a hospital and see a specialist! I am that weak! :O ) I was finally off the really strong antibiotics but the drowsy medication had to continue, which meant more drowsy days ahead! Damn! :(
I went for Kenny and Ferdinand's wedding in the evening and I was late! *Laughs* Seeing 2 secondary school friends getting married was a little surreal, cos I had never imagined myself at the age of 23, attending a secondary school friend's wedding! And Im happy that they've found the love of their lives and are making a commitment out of it! And the bride, Kenny, was so pretty that night!
I met up with Jody for a movie and we caught the Mandarin flick, "The Last Dance". It was a pretty awesome movie, except for the director's warped way of wanting to present it in a sorta "Amelie" (One of my fave French movies!) and more arty farty way, which was a lil over the top for a movie of such a genre. But the actors in it were great, although I had guessed the ending mid way through the movie! I cant help it! I was once a Literature student! *Laughs*
I spent the earlier part of the Sunday with my dearest Mummy and I bought 2 mini skirts! I would have bought a top that I really liked had it not been tight at the bust!! (*Pouts*) I decided to meet my DarLing JuLes for dinner and a movie as some weirdo guy (Ex-Loanshark, current bookie) wanted to date me out. And while waiting for JuLes, I found a Forever21-looking top at a fraction of Forever 21' prices that would match the skirts that bought earlier! Man! I have the greatest urge to wear them now than to wait until the upcoming Chinese New Year cos the entire outfit looked very CNY-ish! Black, red, flowery and low cut! Opps! =X
I watched "The Fur" after a very late dinner and desserts and I didnt realise that the movie was rated R21! Imagine my surprise when 2 minutes into the flim, I see a penis and a pair of saggy boobs! *Laughs* Nicole Kidman was really good in the movie, acting as a repressed housewife of a commercial photographer and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie!
I reached home real early in the day and I had bumped into an ex-friend(crush/500m away neighbour) of mine on my way home...I think he saw me, but I couldnt be sure...But I truly hope that he is now blissfully in love with his current gf...! =)
And I worried the hell out of my friends and Mummy when they couldn't contact me (My cellphone's batt was totally flat out so I couldn't call anyone!) Thank Gawd that my morning lecture wasn't compulsory or I would have literally died! I went for my fave lecturer's class and I dozed off for 5 minutes or so during a break and imagine my embarassment when he spoke to me (with his microphone switched on! He forgot to switch it off!), asking if my cough's better! He's such a sweetheart! :)
And I met up with one of my fave guyfriend for dinner while the other two guyfriend were rushing down from work. And it was real hilarious cos I find it so comfy with them - they treat me like a brother, cos I can be so guy-ish and crude like a guy when I want to around them. And they are always there for me when I need them to be! And they are like elder and younger brothers that I never had! And Des was totally un-Des cos he was so chatty and hilarious! He kept cracking silly jokes that made me cry from laughing! And it was unusual for Des was usually the quietest and the supposed cool one in our gang! He had almost made me puke out my tau huey while we were having tau huey and dough fritters at Selegie Road! *Laughs*
Mummy surprised me with a beautiful chest-of-drawers for my room and a new shoe cabinet on Tuesday afternoon! She had finally bought me a chest-of-drawers, which I had begged for since 2006; cos when we were staying at our old place, I had a wall of wardrobe space and my room now has only like less than half of the wardrobe space that I once had. So imagine my clothes everywhere in my room! My brother said it looks like some scene of a bazaar/pasar malam or of a crime scene of some murder gone wrong. *Laughs* Now if only I would finally get down to stacking clothes in the order that I want to soon! :P I Love my Mummy! *Hearts*
I was sleepy during my lecture on Wednesday morning but I didnt doze off cos for me, its always simply a case of mind over matter sorta thing, unless its cos I had drowsy medication or it was that time of the month...And I slept my way home on the bus and I was already resigned to the fact that I wouldn't be going for my rounds of lychee martinis and maitais when DarLing JuLes said she would be going down to "Our Playground" with her friends!
And I had an invite for drinks (I shall not disclose his identity cos apparently, he reads my blog!) from Mr K, whom had apparently wanted to get me drunk! So I powdered my nose and all and was on my way down real late! And I was thinking that Mr K must have been frightened at how eager I was about getting a round of drinks that he didnt wanna go to "Our Playground" anymore...So pZ being a meanie, pZ called and asked him if he was going, which he said he will...So DarLing JuLes and I had our free rounds of drinks (it being a Ladies' Night!) and danced while waiting for Mr K's arrival...
And Mr K did come, along with a friend, Mr S, and they were not sleazy as we had expected, so that was a plus...And I think they were pretty shocked at how much we could dance cos we'd usually only go for loo and drinking breaks and dance until the lights turn on! And it turned out to be fun cos Herman, one of the DJs, said Jody and my name into the microphone and re-mixed snippets of a classic Disney song into a RnB song as promised! DarLing JuLes was pissed cos Herman didnt notice that it was JuLes who was there and not Jody! *Laughs*
Mr K bought us a round of shooters and I seriously thought I did scare him and Mr S a little cos I downed the shooters at a pretty fast rate! I was still eager for my Lychee Martini but DarLing JuLes wasn't keen! I shall have them come Friday! *Laughs* And they were a lil' shocked (i guess!) cos we cornered another of the bartenders, Dominque, when we were on our way out and pecked him on the cheek cos he had demanded for pecks earlier on in the night and then turned coy on us! *Laughs*
It was nice of Mr K to send me home, cos it turns out that we were staying really near each other and that DarLing JuLes had a ride home! And its really coincidental that we are using the same cellphone and he knew I was wearing a scent of Lavin's, which few girls use...and its pretty unheard of so Im impressed with his knowledge of women fragrances, but then again, it might be because he has many female friends! *Laughs*
The only spoiler of the night was when the latch of my watch was loose and my watch flew off from my hand onto the main platform! The glass face broke! :( Im just glad that someone didnt step on it!
I woke up at 8am, and realised that I had not drawn the curtains so my neighbours might have caught the snoring sight of me! (Thank Gawd I was wearing something! *Laughs*) And what was worse was that I had not removed my contact lenses! :O My Mummy thought I had just returned home! :(
After replying some SMS-es and waking someone up as requested, I went back to zzz-land, only to awake to 10 SMS-es and 3 missed calls...I kid you not! My friends miss me too much! *Laughs* And after some replies, a few of my friends were asking if Im off to MoS for a free party later tonight! Man! And a friend of mine had managed to secure VIP entry for me and a guest...I wasnt really keen cos I didnt feel like clubbing for 3 straight days in a row...(Ive done that before, and imagine the Bouncers' shocked looks when they saw my arm under the UV lights! :P )
Jody called and so we made plans to have dinner together in town, but I had to get my watch fixed first and I was so worried that it couldn't be fixed, cos the watch was a gift from Mummy and she'd be angry had she found out that it had broke, at a club no less! *Laughs* So imagine the relief when after some inspection they said it could be fixed, but it'd take a fornight! Man! I'd be naked and without a nice "dress watch" for the next fortnight! :(
While waiting for Jody to arrive from work, I went shopping and there's sales everywhere! That's something I adore about Singapore! *Laughs* I was stuck at Fox and was undecided on 2 mini skirts cos I didnt know which one looked better on me...Jody came and helped me decide to get both mini-skirts cos they were having a 70% discount! A skirt at less than $15!
We were so hungry that we went for our dinner really late and we settled on NYDC...We chatted and it was real hilarious cos the ex-Loanshark/Current Bookie guy whom seems smittened with me called and Jody answered the phone, which scared the daylights out of him! (We have a secret that we're not telling! :X ) We were laughing so hard after he hung up that we gave up on having a mudpie as dessert!
And I decided on not going for the MoS event as I was feeling tired and so was Jody...Plus, there's always tomorrow at "Our Playground" to look forward to! So imagine my Mummy's surprise when I reached home at a timing that was considered early! *Laughs* I watched some tv, and got online and was chatting with a few friends and then spent like 2 hours or so blogging this really long entry!
